CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Park University Gilbert has been waiting for both their pitching and hitting to come together in the same game.  Today they did it for two straight games as the Buccaneers swept Northwest University this afternoon at Chandler-Gilbert Community College 8-5 and 15-1.

"Both Gabby and Dezire threw well today," said Buccaneers head coach Karin Gadberry. "We were also able to swing the bats the way I know we are capable. We now need to keep it going."

Pitchers Gabby Vallee and Dezire Garcia set the tone in the circle allowing only three earned runs combined in the two games.  Both hurlers picked up the wins in their respective games.

Freshman Makenzie Celeya continued her torrid pace to the start of the season adding three more hits in game one.  Utility transfer Yassiel Lazo is showing not only can she be helpful at the plate, but she is a swiss army knife defensively for the Bucs as she has played third, right and behind the plate so far this season.

The Buccaneers (3-5) hope to add to their winning streak tomorrow, but have a tough task in front of them as face No. 25 Marymount (Calif.).in a double header at 1 p.m. at Chandler-Gilbert CC.
