Justin Marshall begins his first season as the Associate Head Coach for Beach Volleyball at Park University Gilbert in 2020-21.
Marshall was an assistant coach last year for the Buccaneers beach squad helping them to a 5-0 record in a truncated season. The Phoenix native brings 10 years of volleyball coaching experience to Park Gilbert, including 10 years of high school indoor, nine years of indoor club and seven years club beach volleyball.
For the past seven seasons, Marshall has been the lead coach for One Beach Volleyball in Tempe, Ariz. He also has been the Head Coach for Club One indoor volleyball program within the same organization for eight seasons.
For two seasons, Marshall was an assistant indoor coach at American Leadership Academy Gilbert North. The Eagles won 32 matches in those two seasons and reached the 2019 3A state tournament.
Always trying to improve upon the craft of coaching, Marshall has participated in numerous coaching clinics and educational programs to make sure he is on the cutting edge of coaching. He received accreditation from the Gold Medal Squared program, as well as receiving coaching accreditation from the USA Volleyball Coach Accreditation Program (CAP) in both beach and indoor. He has also obtained the Art of Coaching Volleyball Certification.
Marshall played high school volleyball at Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoenix, Ariz. where he earned honorable mention all-state honors as a setter. The Eagles reached the 4A state tournament all four years he was at O’Connor advancing to the quarterfinals his junior and senior seasons.
Marshall, who is single, lives in Phoenix, Ariz., where he enjoys fishing, camping and hiking.
