MESA, Ariz. --- The Park University Gilbert volleyball team (1-3, 0-1) lost to the La Sierra University Golden Eagles (3-6, 1-0) by a score of 3-2, Thursday evening at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz.
The Buccaneers dropped a five-set thriller to begin Great Southwest Athletic Conference play, as La Sierra earned its first GSAC win of the season. Park-Gilbert now moves to 5-4 all-time against LSU.
Park-Gilbert held an 11-8 lead in the decisive fifth set, but ultimately saw the Golden Eagles rally to a 7-3 run to end the match.
Keep Williams and Lainey Calvary led the Bucs in kills with 12 each, and setter Adrianna DeMario posted her second 35+ assist game of the season. Williams (13), DeMario (11), and libero Porsche Bauer (10) each finished with double-digit digs. Middle blocker Molly Aikens logged nine blocks and eight kills with a .545 attack percentage.
