RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- The Park University Gilbert volleyball team (5-10, 1-7) lost to the La Sierra University Gilbert Golden Eagles (8-9, 4-4) by a score of 3-1, Thursday night at the Alumni Pavillion in Riverside, Calif.
In the second meeting this season between these two Great Southwest Athletic Conference squads, the Buccaneers fell to the Golden Eagles in four sets (19-25, 17-25, 27-25, 17-25). Last month, when Park-Gilbert hosted La Sierra at Arizona Athletic Grounds, these two teams played in a five-set duel that LSU ultimately won.
This contest saw neither team hold a double-digit lead in any of the four sets. Park's lone set win came in the third, when the Bucs scored three straight to close out the frame.
Park was led on offense by Lainey Calvary Thursday night. Calvary posted a team-high 12 kills off an efficient 22 attacks, while also logging three service aces. On defense, Lainey had six digs and six total blocks (one solo, five block assists).
Kyla Knight nearly had her first double-double of the season as she had nine kills and 11 digs. Setter Adrianna DeMario recorded 28 assists and seven digs.
