The Park University Gilbert women's volleyball team closed out its opening tournament with a 3-0 (11-25, 16-25, 10-25) loss to Bushnell University in the Raider Invitational played at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore.
The difference in this match came down to the Bucs inability to get kills when they needed them. The two teams were comparable in many offensive and defensive categories but the difference in kills (40-21) and aced (9-0) was the difference in the match.
Individually, junior Porsche Bauer led the way with 7 kills on the day with 7 digs. Sophomore setter Miyah Vila led the team with 11 assists and freshman Elise Langley led the squad with 12 digs, her second double digit dig performance in as many days.
The Bucs take this next week off before returning for a busy week of play starting on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at Justice University at 6 p.m. before hosting its home opener against Simpson on Wednesday. Aug. Â 27 at Arizona Athletic Grounds starting at 6 p.m. The Bucs will close out the week with its first trip to Florida as program to play in the Florida College Labor Day Invitational from August 29-31,
