M/W Basketball Combine for Six NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its winter sports Daktronics Scholar-Athletes for the 2024-25 season and Park University Gilbert has six athletes over two sports on the docket.

To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year.

Park Gilbert only has two NAIA sponsored sports in the winter season. Women's basketball had four scholar athletes and men's basketball had two.

Women's Basketball had two players with a 4.0 GPA, Senior Kayla Schroeder and junior Larken Hoar. In addition, senior Andraya Dimas (3.76) and redshirt junior Hemani Kalia (3.5) made the list. The women's team had five other players who would have made the list but were only in their first year at Park Gilbert.

The men's team also had its own 4.0 GPA student in senior Caleb Ivy, who is redshirting this year due to a lower leg injury. Senior Aidan Moreno (3.55) was the other men's player who met the qualifications. Men's basketball also had an additional four players who would have made the list but have not been at Park Gilbert for the mandatory year.

Including the fall, Park Gilbert now has 27 athletes who have earned NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete kudos in the 2024-25 school year.
