MESA, Ariz. --- The Park University Gilbert men's soccer team (6-6-4, 5-3-3) and the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles (7-4-5, 6-2-4) played to a 2-2 draw, Tuesday night at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz.
The Buccaneers still hold sole possession of fourth place in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference standings, following last Saturday's loss and Tuesday night's tie against Embry-Riddle. With the GSAC men's soccer championships taking place next Friday, Park-Gilbert remains in the playoff picture.
Park-Gilbert was led by an impressive two-goal outing from senior forward Havard Brynie, who netted his third and fourth goals of the season. Brynie's goals came in the 29th and 50th minutes. Senior forward Konstantinos Hinteregger got his first assist of the season on Havard's opening score.
The Bucs got on the board first, but then Embry-Riddle tied things up at one with 38 seconds remaining in the first half. After Brynie scored his second goal to put the Bucs up 2-1, the Eagles netted the equalizer in the 78th minute.
Park outshot ERAU 12-11, and the Bucs had seven shots on goal.
Senior Nicklas Lagesen picked up his fourth draw in 10 starts this season, recording two saves in this match.
The Bucs return to action this Thursday, Oct. 30 at 4:30 p.m. MST, when they hit the road to face the Hope International University Royals (4-5-7, 3-4-4) at OC Great Park in Irvine, Calif.
