Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bucs Fall 2-1 to Embry-Riddle

MESA, Ariz. --- The Park University Gilbert men's soccer team (6-6-3, 5-3-2) lost 2-1 to the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles (7-4-4, 6-2-3), Saturday night at the ERAU Varsity Field in Prescott, Ariz.

This was a consequential game for both teams and their Great Southwest Athletic Conference tournament seeding. Embry-Riddle and Park-Gilbert now take sole possession of third and fourth place, respectively.

Embry-Riddle took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break, netting the game's opening goal in the 22nd minute.

Five minutes into the second half, both teams fired off two goals in the span of 36 seconds.

Midfielder Ryan Masterson netted the Bucs' lone goal late in the 52nd minute, with Mamadou Seck assisting on the play. The Eagles then took the lead early in the 53rd minute.

In net for Park-Gilbert Saturday evening was senior Nicklas Lagesen, who moves to 2-3-3 on the year.

The Buccaneers return to the pitch this Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. MST, when they host the Eagles in a rematch on home turf at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz. This game is a rescheduling of the Sept. 27 match that was postponed due to lightning delays.
