The Park University Gilbert women's basketball team lost to the Oregon Institute of Technology this evening 74-46. The Buccaneers had its worst shooting night of the season and looked sluggish against a tough hard-nosed Owl squad who was ranked in the top-20 in the NAIA preseason poll.
No Buccaneer finished in double figures for the first time this season and the Bucs who came in averaging almost 15 three-point baskets a game were held to just three tonight.
The Buccaneers shot 29 percent from the field and a mere 17 percent from three.
Alynna Palacios led the Bucs with eight points and 10 rebounds as the Buccos also struggled on the glass, getting out boarded by 19 boards. The two teams were even with 25 a piece in the first half, but OIT clamped down in the second half with 34 boards to only 15 for Park.
After a 3-0 start in October with a win over No. 21 Rocky Mountain, the Bucs have yet to find their footing in the November with four losses, albeit three of them came against ranked opposition. The Bucs have also been missing three key pieces who are hoping to be back before the start of conference play.
Park Gilbert now had 10 days off for the Thanksgiving break and return to play on Saturday, November 30 when they host Bethesda University at Arizona Athletic Grounds at 5:30 p.m.
