The Park University Gilbert volleyball team dropped its sixth straight conference match to start play in the Great Southwest Conference losing to Benedictine Mesa 3-0 (13-25, 12-25, 16-25) at the BENU PEC in Mesa, Ariz. The Buccaneers fall to 4-6 overall and 0-6 in GSAC play. The Redhawks up their mark to 13-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
The Buccaneers struggled offensively, only posting 17 kills for the match with 20 errors to hit .-039. On the bright side, middle blocker Mallory Turner moved into fourth place on the Buccaneers all-time kill list with five kills this evening to up her total to 451 kills, passing fellow middle blocker Makenna Busse (447). She also moved into fourth place on the all-time attack list with 491 attacks, passing former outside hitter Autumn Wood (488).
Turners five kills paced the Bucs attack as she hit .333 for the evening. Leilani Pollard had 13 digs to lead the Bucs.
Park Gilbert looks to get off the schneid on Friday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. when it takes on Arizona Christian at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz. Â Â Â
