SANTA CLARITA, Calif. --- The Park University Gilbert women's soccer team (1-7-2, 0-4-2) lost 4-1 on the road against The Master's University (8-2-0, 4-1-0) Saturday afternoon at Reese Field in Santa Clarita.

The Buccaneers seized early momentum in this match, against a Mustangs team sitting in second place in the GSAC standings. Forward and captain
Emma Alvarez opened the scoring to put the Bucs up 1-0 in the 9
th minute, off an assist from midfielder
Dani Mares.

 The Master's then took the momentum back with four unanswered goals. Mustangs midfielder Bekah Micu had two goals on the day, tying the match in the 26
th minute and then scoring again in the 83
rd minute.Â

Morgan Trail recorded eight saves, as the Mustangs' offense took 22 shots in total. Park-Gilbert's offense took seven shots, converting their one shot on goal into a score.

 Buccaneers women's soccer returns to the pitch Thursday, Oct. 10 at 5:30 p.m. MST, as they take on Benedictine University Mesa (2-6-0, 0-5-0) at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Mesa, Ariz.
