MESA, Ariz --- The Park University Gilbert women's soccer team (2-7-2, 1-4-2) defeated the Benedictine University Mesa Redhawks (2-8-0, 0-7-0) Thursday evening on the road at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Mesa, Ariz.

The Buccaneers secured their first conference win of the regular season by a score of 2-1 through consistent offensive pressure.

BENU quickly responded with a goal from freshman forward Julia Bodelaasse in the fourth minute to tie the match. Bodelasse's score ended up being the Redhawks' only shot recorded in the first half.
