Match 2 – OUAZ 3, Park Gilbert 0
For the second consecutive match, the Bucs struggled with errors, committing 21 attack errors en route to hitting .038 for the match.
Sophomore Railey Druxman led the team with nine kills and two aces. Druxman hit .235 with only one attack error.
Junior Makayla Simmons had a career high 25 digs which ranks as the third highest total in school history. In the second match, the Bucs started slow, but responded to stay competitive in the second and third sets.
Attack errors were again the Bucs bugaboo as they committed 10 hitting errors each in the first two sets as they went on to commit 25 for the match compared to only seven miscues from the Spirit.
Freshman Porsche Bauer (.222) and senior Avery Turk (.214) each hit over .200 with six and five kills respectively. Simmons had another solid game defensively with 19 digs. Â
The Bucs will return to the court next Friday, September 1 in the Firestorm Labor Day Invitational. They are slated to take on Justice College at 3 p.m. before getting a rematch with the Firestorm on Saturday, September 2 at 1 p.m.
