Golden Eagles Hand Park Gilbert Third Conference Loss

Mesa, Ariz. – The Park University Gilbert men's basketball team wrapped up their weekend with an upsetting 75-65 loss to the La Sierra Golden Eagles on Sunday afternoon.

The Buccaneers were within reach throughout the first 20 minutes, shooting 43.3 percent from the floor while the Eagles led with 50 percent. 

Aidan Moreno saw success from the get go, chipping in with eight points, going 3-6 from the floor. He managed four rebounds while Vincent Cooke, Olgierd Dmochewicz, and Zach Lewkowski recorded three a piece. 

Blake Bluitt from La Sierra took matters into his own hands putting up 15 points, going 5-7 from behind the arc. Brandhon Thomas carried the Eagles during the second half, scoring a game high of 20 points, 12 of which were shot from the 3-point range. 

LC Ballard led the Buccaneers once again with 15 points, grabbing four assists and two rebounds. Kobi Cason saw playing time after missing the first handful of games this season. He finished with 14 points, four rebounds, and two assists overall. Lewkowski trailed with 13 points, shooting 5-8 from the floor.

The Bucs were able to hold their opponents to 30 points while they followed with 29, but the Eagles 45 points in the first half made all the difference in the end.

Park is scheduled to host No. 3 Grace College on Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. at Bell Bank Park.
