Box Score Lewiston, Idaho – The men's basketball team at Park University Gilbert kicked off their 2022 season on the road with a 90-57 loss to Lewis Clark State College. The Buccaneers trailed for the duration of the game but were able to get playing time ahead of conference play beginning on Dec. 1.
The Bucs kept the rebound statistics close, finishing with 32, just behind Lewis Clark's 37. On the offensive end, they shot 35.1 percent from the floor and 19.0 percent behind the arc. Heading into halftime, Park chased 31-47.
The team slowly slipped away during the final 20 minutes, as Lewis Clark posted 43 points, with the Buccaneers claiming 26. Overall, the Buccaneers recorded 23 points off the bench and eight steals.
Junior LC Ballard led the team with 13 points and went 5-8 at the free throw line. Jaylen Solich racked 11 points, while achieving 55.6 percent (5-9) on the floor. Ballard and Solich are a part of this season's list of new Buccaneers. Ballard is a transfer from Langston University, with Solich moving from Folsom Lake College.
Zrebric Humphrey made his 2022 debut by logging 22 minutes and slating a game high of seven rebounds. Aidan Moreno, the sophomore from Rio Rancho, N.M. reported 35 minutes and finished 66.7 percent (2-3) from the free throw line.
The team is penciled in to take on the Bears of Rocky Mountain College on Nov. 4 at 2:00 Arizona Standard Time. Live streaming and stats will be available on the Rocky Mountain College athletic website.
