CALDWELL, Idaho – The Park University Gilbert (10-17) offensive woes continued as they only managed two runs against the College of Idaho (7-19) and wasted a solid start on the mound from sophomore lefty Luke Richards as the Buccaneers fell 5-2 at Wolfe Field.

The Bucs were buoyed by the return of middle infielder Cade Maestas who has missed the past month after he was injured in the series with Ottawa (Ariz.). The Bucs went 3-13 with Maestas out of the lineup. Maestas was hitting .423 in the 10 games he played prior to being injured.  He went 1-4 in his return.

Alex Moreno and Nate Young chipped in with two hits each and Hugo Acosta drove in the only two runs for the Bucs with a double in the eighth inning.

Richards went 5 1/3 innings allowing all five runs but did not walk a batter and struck out 4. Joseph Chavira pitched the remainder of the contest, not allowing a run over 2 2/3 innings.   

The Bucs and Coyotes return to action tomorrow (Saturday, March 7) morning with a double header starting at 11 a.m. Pacific Time, 12 p.m. Arizona Time.
