Park Gilbert (2020): Shared closer duties with Diego Bustillos … made eight appearances on the mound (starting two) … went 0-2 with a 7.11 ERA and three saves … pitched 12 2/3 innings … picked up three saves in his first four outings … threw three innings to get the save against Bethesda (1/18) … went the last 1 1/3 against La Sierra to get the save (1/31) … picked up the save as he came in to get one out against Ottawa (Ariz.)  (2/6).  

Benedictine Mesa: Played one season (2019) … played in 12 games in the field, hitting .455 with two doubles, six walks and two RBI … made three appearances on the mound, throwing three innings and not allowing a run.

High School: A 2018 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix, Ariz. … coached by Mike Collins and Joseph Ponce … a four-year varsity letter winner … went 4-1 his senior year with a 3.62 ERA … also did damage at the plate as a .332 career hitter … his senior year hit .326 with 2 home runs and 27 RBI … Knights reached the 4A state semifinals … first team all-region and Defensive Player of the Year his senior year … second team his junior  year and honorable mention as a sophomore … named Male Athlete of the Year.

Personal: Majoring in Criminal Justice … parents are Lily and Jose Zubia … has a sister Joelle (15) … born July 9, 1999.
