For the second time this season, Park University Gilbert men's soccer player Ollie Saksinen is the recipient of the Buccaneer Player of the Week Award.

The Buccaneer Player of the Week is voted on by the coaches, staff and faculty at Park Gilbert. The player with the most votes wins for the week. The award recognizes athletic excellence and good sportsmanship.

Saksinen had an outstanding performance in the Buccaneers 5-1 win over OUAZ this past Wednesday. The freshman from Espoo, Finland scored four of the Bucs five goals in the game. The four goals and eight points tied the school record for goals and points in a game. He tied the goal record set by another freshman Caleb Christner against Providence Christian in 2022. The points record tied him with Christner and Johnny Perez who also had eight points (3 goals, 2 assists) against Bushnell in 2022.

Saksinen completed the hat trick in the first half scoring three goals before halftime and then put number four on the board five minutes into the second half.

 Saksinen has now scored eight goals in the Bucs first seven games which is second most in the GSAC Conference. He still has a way to go for the Buccaneer single season goals record which is 17 by Christner in 2022.

Also in contention for the award was women's soccer player Bekah Sipinga and women's volleyball player Keep Williams.
