Park University Gilbert junior Riley Wortman is in the hunt for medalist honors after day 1 of the Oakwood Intercollegiate tournament at Oakwood Country Club in Enid, Okla. As a team the Bucs sit in 10th place out of 18 teams in the tournament.
Wortman shot a one-under 70 in round two after an even par 71 in the first round. He currently sits in sixth place, three shots of the lead. Wortman had eight birdies combined in the two rounds.
Freshman Carson Andel, who is playing as an individual, posted the second-best day for the Bucs at +9 after a second round one-over 72.
As a team the Buccaneers shot 22-over in round one before rebounding and shooting +19 in the second round. Â
The shotgun final round starts at 9:30 a.m. Arizona time tomorrow morning as Wortman goes for his second career tournament win. Â Â
