MESA, Ariz. --- The Park University Gilbert beach volleyball team (3-9, 1-6) lost to the Ottawa University Arizona Spirit (12-1, 7-0) by a score of 5-0, Thursday morning at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz.
The Buccaneers still seek their first program win against OUAZ, as Park-Gilbert moves to 0-12 all-time against Ottawa. The defending national champion Spirit came into this contest ranked No. 1 in the latest NAIA Top 10 poll. Their one loss on the year came against Division I Nebraska University, in a close 3-2 battle.
Park-Gilbert's pair of Athena Hice and Marissa Moorehouse put up a valiant fight against OUAZ's No. 5 pair. That match went to three sets after Hice and Moorhouse won the first set 21-19.

The Buccaneers return to the court tomorrow, March 13 at 10 a.m. MST, when they hit the road to face the Arizona Christian University Firestorm (6-8, 3-4) in Glendale, Ariz.
