SANTA CLARITA, Calif. —Park University Gilbert's women's soccer team fell 5-0 to The Master's University on Thursday afternoon at Reese Field. The Buccaneers dropped to 10-5-1 overall and 6-4-1 in GSAC play but still have an opportunity to secure a spot in the conference playoffs with a win in their final regular-season home match on Saturday.
The Master's took control early, scoring in the third minute through Breanna Fajardo. The hosts added goals in the 11th, 28th and 34th minutes to build a 4-0 halftime lead. Park-Gilbert faced a difficult challenge against a strong attacking side that consistently created scoring opportunities throughout the opening half.
The Buccaneers continued to compete after the break, looking for a way back into the match. However, The Master's added its fifth goal in the 58th minute, with Fajardo completing a hat trick. Park-Gilbert worked to create chances of its own but was unable to find the back of the net.
