ALISO VIEJO, Calif. --- The Great Southwest Athletic Conference announced its winners Monday afternoon for GSAC Players of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions, and Park University Gilbert's Journey Morimoto was named the women's soccer Defender of the Week.
Morimoto claims her second GSAC Defender of the Week award this month (previously on Oct. 5) and the third of her career.

Her contributions in the net led to a thrilling comeback victory for the Bucs as Kiara Rubio netted a game-winning header with 1.5 seconds remaining on the clock. Journey's 9 saves were one-shy of her career-high of 10, recorded last season against Embry-Riddle on Oct. 25, 2025.
Against Life Pacific on Saturday, Morimoto logged her fourth clean sheet of the season and earned win No. 15 on the career.
Journey's net minding presence has been a key factor to the Buccaneers having their most successful season in program history with 10 wins and counting. Â Morimoto and the Buccaneers return to the pitch this Thursday, Oct. 22 at 1:30 p.m. MST when they hit the road to face The Master's University Mustangs at Reese Field in Santa Clarita, Calif.
