Bucs Drop Double Dip to College of Idaho

The Park University Gilbert baseball team dropped a double header this afternoon to the College of Idaho. The Bucs lost the first game 8-2 and the second contest 11-6.

Recap:

Two runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth were all COI need en route to an 8-2 win. The Bucs posted one run in the first and another in the ninth on sacrifice flies from Jimmy Wood and Jaden Hunter.

Highlights

-          KJ Ward struck out eight batter in the three-plus inning he pitched but surrended four runs (three earned) in the fourth to get a no-decision. In seven innings against College of Idaho in his career, Ward has struck out 19 batters in seven innings (21 outs).

-          Freshman Jim Achen III hit his first career home run, a three-run shot to right center to give the Bucs a 3-0 lead in the first.

-          Lincoln Butt threw three hitless and scoreless innings striking out a career high four batters in relief.
