The Park University Gilbert women's soccer team (2-3-0) lost to the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (3-0-0), Wednesday morning at Community Stadium in La Grande, Ore.
In the first-ever meeting between these two programs, the Buccaneers fell by a score of 1-0. This game concluded both Park-Gilbert's two-game stint in Oregon, as well as the non-conference portion of the 2025 schedule.
The lone score of this contest came in the seventh minute of play, when Mountaineers forward Ashley Smith scored her first goal of the season, assisted by forward Ava Henkemeyer.
Senior goalkeeper Morgan Trail got the start in the first half, recording one save. Sophomore Journey Morimoto then took over in the final 45 minutes, posting two saves.
The Bucs struggled to get shots on the board, finishing with just one from sophomore forward Mikenzie Kulish. The Mountaineers racked up 10 shots, four of which were on goal.
The Buccaneers women's soccer team gets 10 days of rest following the conclusion of non-conference play. They return to the pitch next Saturday, Sept. 13 at 5:00 p.m. MST, when they host the OUAZ Spirit at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz.
