Bucs' Three Goal Comeback Leads to Thrilling Senior Day Win

MESA, Ariz. ---- The Park University Gilbert women's soccer team (4-10-3, 3-7-3) stunned the Benedictine University Mesa Redhawks (3-12-1, 1-11-1) with a three-goal comeback for the 3-2 win, Thursday evening on home turf in Mesa, Ariz.

The Buccaneers honored 12 seniors and their families tonight, sending them off victorious in their final match at Arizona Athletic Grounds.

BENU took about 15 minutes to get on the scoreboard, with a goal from Redhawks forward Rod Brylee assisted by defender Maya Shearon. The Bucs only fired off four shots in the first half, two of which were on goal. In the 62nd minute, the Redhawks got their second goal of the night off a score from defender Alexis Abbott.

Buccaneers freshman defender Bekah Sipinga and senior forward Emma Alvarez led the late offensive charge, as Park-Gilbert stared down a 2-0 deficit with roughly six minutes to play.
