MESA, Ariz. --- The Park University Gilbert men's soccer team (7-6-4, 5-4-4) took care of business Thursday night on home turf, defeating the Benedictine University Mesa Redhawks (6-8-3, 5-5-3) by a score of 3-1 at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz.

The Buccaneers keep their postseason hopes alive, as they now must win their final match this Saturday in order to clinch a spot in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference tournament.

Senior defenseman Sam Fowles was the first player to find the back of the net in the 25th minute, when he was set up with a pass from junior midfielder Ryan Masterson. Four minutes later, junior midfielder Havard Brynie netted his sixth goal of the season with freshman defenseman Noah Yalu assisting on the play.

Roughly 10 minutes before the halftime break, BENU scored its opening goal of the match from junior midfielder Shiloh Perez. Junior defenseman Edwin Arias recorded the assist.
